Volunteer Opportunities

Medical & Health related volunteer opportunities
St. John's, Well child and family center:
This center can help prepare students with skills that can be applied in any clinical and administrative setting. People interested in the fields of health care, health care administration or etcetera can get good experience volunteering here. Volunteers play a key role to achieve the mission of eliminating health disparities and fostering community well-being by providing and promoting the highest quality care in south Los Angeles. I can apply to this volunteer center because i could learn and have capabilities that i did have/know before.

Claremont Mckenna College:
This organization has services for children and adults ages 3-22. young children and adults participate in a variety of activities. Volunteers will have a chance to work closely with professional HIV/AIDS advocates. They can also earn school credits, attend special events, and gain work experience in the HIV/AIDS field. Volunteers also get provided with opportunities to attend trainings to become certified HIV Testing Counselors, helping them reach the testing goals and spreading the word on the importance of knowing one's HIV status.
Operation Smile:
Volunteers give time and valuable resource through local fundraising, participating in local and national volunteer organizations, preparing supplies for medical missions and etcetera. They also help alleviate discomfort and stress by extending their generosity beyond the surgery that each of their patients recieve. I can apply to this volunteer center because this is a great way to learn how to cope with kids and help them.
