Having Enthusiasm pushes you to do stuff you wouldn't do if you were always dull and depressed. It is important to be happy and confident with yourself to achieve anything you put yourself up to. For example, passing your classes with good grades. If you believe in yourself to get good grades you will achieve it,but if not you will get nowhere due to the negative attitude you have. When people have enthusiasm they are energetic, and full of ideas/thoughts that could help them out through their journey. When you lack interest is when you start to close doors on your self. When you lose confidence and energy to continue what you are working on is when you mess up. Enthusiasm is an important role that should be part of anything you want to achieve. Without it their is no fun, no movement to where you are reaching for. Progress is due to your attitude and how cognizant you are on what you must do to move forward.Moving forward it is not just about smart you are.
