Wellness Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities: Wellness specialists work for schools, local governments, companies or other organizations to suggest, support and train people on their health and fitness goals. A specialist often consults with people directly on lifestyle, eating and exercise habits and may direct an individual to a doctor for any serious health concerns.

Salary: An average of $41K annually

Education: A wellness specialist often has a degree in a related discipline such as nursing, fitness or sports medicine. there are no specific requirements, but many positions require on-the-job training in addition to certification from accredited wellness organizations such as the International association of Wellness Professionals.

Demand for this profession: The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects the wellness field to grow by 37 percent between 2010 and 2020, which is much faster than average for other careers in the United States. 

Reflection: I do not think i would like to become a Wellness Specialist because it just doesn't catch my attention enough and i don't think i would like working as something i don't really enjoy doing. This job is a great opportunity for anyone interested, also because they give good pay, but i am not interested. So no i would not like to become a Wellness Specialist but it is a good career after all.

Sports Medicine

Duties and Responsibilities: Sports physicians treat musculoskeletal injuries that occur as a result of participation in sports, such as knee and shoulder injuries, ankle sprains, head injuries, tendonitis and fractures. Additionally, primary care sports physicians may treat chronic health conditions that can affect athletic performance, such as asthma and diabetes. Sports physicians counsel athletes, helping them maximize performance, prevent injuries and lead a healthy lifestyle. They may suggest supplements, diet plans or exercise regiments to adress performance issues. They may also help athletes with psychological or substance abuse issues related  to sports. Sport physicians collaborate with physician therapists, athletic trainers and other healthcare professionals to plan courses of treatment and rehailiation for their patients.

Education: Bachelor's degree and a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. During their undergraduate years, students will need to take pre-med classes in biology, anatomy and chemistry. Medical school is a 4-year program in which the last two years include clinical rotations.

Reflection: No, i do not think i would like to become a sports medicine because that is not something i am interested in. I am interested in other type of careers and this one does not seem to catch my attention enough to say i would want to be a sports medicine. A sports medicine is a good career with an average pay but i dont see myself being one and i think i would be better involved in a different carreer.

Reflection: No, i do not think i would like to become a Speech Pathologists because i am not interested in this profession. Although i am not interested in this, i still believe it is a good career.

Medical Scientist

Reflection: I do not think i would like to become a Medical Scientist because i am not interested in this. Although it is a good career, my interests are in on different things and a Medical scientist is not one of them.

Reflexologist

Duties and Responsibilities: Reflexology is a system of massage used to relieve tension and treat illness, based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet, hands, and head linked to every part of the body. Reflexology is the application of pressure on reflex points. It is generally relaxing and may be an effective way to alleviate stress. These reflex points correspond to organs and systems of the body. Pressure applied to these points affects the organs and benefit's the person's health. In this job you would need to be able to listen to clients and empathise with their health or emotional issues.

Salary: According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics 2016-17 Occupational Outlook Handbook, the median national annual salary for massage therapists is $37,180.

Education: Certificate, associate's degree..Most states require a license or certification for massage therapists; voluntary certification in reflexology is available. 500 hours of massage therapy education may be required for state licensure and by some employers.

Demand for this profession: Employment of massage therapists is projected to grow 22 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations. Continued growth in the demand for massage services will lead to new openings for massage therapists.

Reflection: No, i do not think i would like to become a Reflexologist. The reason why is because i am not interested in this type of career. My interest is towards something else and i do not see myself as a Reflexologist although some people may be adequate for this job and might enjoy it.

Registered Nurse (RN)

Cytotechnologist employed by hospitals or other medical centers spend their days in the laboratory, analyzing patient biopsies. They use the most current imaging devies and methods to detect cell abnormalities or irreularities. They report their findings to the head of the lab and/or the patient's overseeing physician. While cytotechnologists must be self-sufficient, and able to work unaided, they do have interact with other researchers and technologists in a public laboratory space. Patient interaction, however, is limited.

Education: A bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology prepares a student for a career as a technologist. Though it may vary slightly between universities, the program emphasizes microbiology and laboratory practices.

Demand for this proffesion: With a strating salary of $50,000 and technologists as a whole predicted to increase employment by nearly 30%, cytotchnology appears to be a solid job choice.

Reflection: This career seems interesting but i dont think i would like to become a cytotechnologist in the future. This careeer is based on laboratory work such as finidng new cures to cancer and other diseases which is a very important part of our every day lifes. However, i do not see myself in this career.

Mental Health Counselor

Duties and Responsibilities: 

A Mental Health Counselor works with individuals,groups and communities to improve mantal health. Another part of their job is to encourage clients to discuss emotions and experiences, work with families, examine issues including substance abuse aging, bullying, anger management, careers, depression, relationships, LGBTQ issues, self-image, stress and suicide. They also help clients define goals, plan action, gain insight and develop therapeutic processes by refering clients to psychologists and other services.

Earning an undergraduate degree in counseling, psychology, sociology or social work is the first step in becoming a mental health counselor. Later then a you must pursue your master's in mental healh counseling. Most states require that mental health counselors comlpete two years of popst-graduate supervised worf, totaling between 2,000 and 4,000 hours of clinical experience. In addition, counselors must pass a state-recognized exam and complete annual continuing education courses.

Demand for this profession: 

The field of Mental Health Counseling is one of the few fields in the nation that is predicted to grow at almost 3 times the rate of other forms of employment.

Reflection: No i do not think i would like to become a Mental Health Counselor. The reason why is because i dont feel like this would be the correct job for me. Being a Mental Health Counselor is not something i see myself doing in the future or somethuing i belive id be interested in being. I am interested in a different type of career and a mental health counselor is not what im looking foward to although it is a great career for anyone who is into these type of careers.

Psychologist

 Psychologists study the human mind. Their research helps us understand behavior, memory and mental health disorders. Through counseling and experimentation, psychologists work to promote safety, understanding and good mental health. Psychologists collect information through observations, interviews, surveys and other methods. They also use their knowledge to increase understanding among individuals and groups.

Education: Although pyschologists typically need a doctoral degree or specialist degree in psychology, a master,s degree is sufficient for some positions. Demand for this profession: Psychology is a varied field.

Reflection: No i don't think i would like to be one, because i am not interested in this field. This field is a good field for anyone interested but i am not.

Psychiatrist

As part of the clinical assessment process they may employ a mental status examination, a physical examination, brain imaging such as computerized tomography, magnetic resonance imaging and etcetera. Some psychiatrists specialize in helping certain age groups and often employ individual  or group therapy to gain insight into a patient's past. These professionals may work in a variety of settings and are expected to experience a favorable employment outlook in upcoming years.

Education: Many medical school applicants have a bachelor's degree or higher. Upon earning their undergraduate degree, they need to apply to medical school. Psychiatrist must take a standardized test evaluating their qualifications to enter medical school, which is called Medical College Admissions Test. Many schools also require a personal interview and letters of recommendation.

Demand for this profession: According to the results of a recently released survey by the national physician search, psychiatrists are in great demand these days. In fact, the need for psychiatrists is rising faster than for physicians in and other specialty.

Reflection: No, i do not think i would like to become a psychiatrist because i don't seem interested in this career while i was reading what it is to be one. This career is good and gives an alright pay but i don't think this is something i'd like to major on.

Physical Therapist

They meet the patients goals and needs to provide quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results. Administer physical therapy by gving massages; initiating traction; applying physical agents; utilizing hydrotherapy tanks and whirlpool baths, and etcetera. Physical Therapists also maintain patients confidence and protects hospital operations by keeping information confidential. They aslo maintain safe and clean working environments by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Education: Before they are allowed to practice, physical therapists (PT's) must have earned graduate degrees from acccredited academic programs in physical therapy. These programs typically culminate in a doctoral degree and take a least three years to complete. Most physical therapist education programs require applicants to earn a bachelor's degree prior to admission into the proffesional DPT program.
Demand for this profession: This proffesion is highly overrated, there are many phyisical therapists and i believe that they make an impact in patients life by helping them overcome theyre pain.

 No i do not think i would like to become a Physical Therapist. Even though this is a great proffession, i do not see myself as one. This  field brings you a lot of money that will help you be stabalized, but i wouldnt want to be one. Being a physical therapist can help other poeple in need who are going through pain and suffering, whih will make yo feel good about yourself if you are able to help them out. Either way i wouoldnt want to become one, because i am interested in a different type of field.

Operating Room Technician

These technicians typically participate in a few surgical procedures each day, a schedule that keeps ORTs mostly on their feet -recognized as a true health benefit

Education: Technically a highschool diploma or GED satisfies the qualifications for a candidate to enter the necessary training programs and become an ORT. However, earning an associate's or bachelor's degree usually makes an operating room technician more desirable to employers, not to mention better positioned for opportunities that come along over the years. Whether the prospective technicians major in a science or not, all types of laboratory cources are appropiate. 
Demand for this proffesion: This proffesion is helping many people considering there are many Operating Room Technicians all around the world. ORT's are a big role of a surgents duty.
Reflection: No i do not think i would like to become an Operating Room Technician, the reason why is because i am not interested in this type of field. I belive this career is really important and can give a good pay to live a succeeding life, and help others but i wouldnt see my self as a ORT. This is a great field and anyone actually interested in this career could do great.

Nursing Home Administrator

Nursing home administrators work to supervise clinical and administrative affairs of nursing homes and  include overseeing staff and personnel, financial matters, medical care, medical supplies, facilities, and other duties  as specific position demand. Nursing home administrators are involved in the day-to-day aspects.
Salary:
 A mid-career nursing home administrator should expect to earn between $65,000 and $90,000, though some earn more than $100,000. Salaries vary widely depending on the region of the united states, the size of the facility and type of owner ship.
Education: 
Nursing home administartors must have a bachelor's degree, and most hold master's degree in thealth administration or other relevant fields. Their degree programs include business courses as well as instruction on healthcare regulations and ethics.

I would like to become a Nursing home administrator because I am intersted in different hobbies. Although this could be a great job for anyone interested, I do not see myself being in this type of field. I like action, therfore I wouldn't want to be this.

Neonatologist

Education:
After completing a four-year bachelor of science degree, aspiring neonatologists enter medical school which takes another four years. Students must then complete another three-year residency, where they choose a specialty in pediatrics. They must then complete a fellowship in neonatology for their final years of study.

Reflection: Yes, i think i would like to do this career because i could treat babies that have troubles and save them from losing their lives. Not only that but this is a big responsibility and i feel like i would enjoy my job. Taking care of the baby's health knowing what to do and how to treat the problem is something i would like to know/do. This seems like a really interesting career to do.

orthodontist

Duties and responsibilities:
Orthodontics, a specialty with the dental profession, involves straightening teeth and correcting bites. Orthodontics are responsible for locating problems with the positioning of patients' teeth and with their oral development. They might use x-rays or plaster molds of your patients' teeth to do this. Orthodontics then use dental appliances, such as braces, retainers and space maintainers, to correct these problems for the purpose of providing better function, appearance and facial development. Orthodontics are also responsible for planning custom treatment plans that are tailored to treat each individual patient based on his or her records and specific anomalies. A last thing that orthodontics may be in charge of is supervising and instructing orthodontic technicians and assistants in performing routine procedures.
Salary:

Education:
Complete a four-year undergraduate degree, typically a bachelor's of science, before moving to dental school. While a degree is not required by all dental schools, it is usually recommended and ,may give prospects an edge when applying for admission.

Reflection:
I would not want to become an orthodontist. The reason why is because working with teeth is not what I am interested in. Although an orthodontist is a great job for anyone who is actually focused on this type of field, in my opinion i don't think i would enjoy studying for this career. My interest are in different type of careers and this is not one i would like.

No, I do not think I would like to be one. The reason why is because I am not into medical careers. Although being in a medical career you earn a good salary and save peoples life by treating them, I do not think I’d enjoy this job. I would not like to be in a medical career because it is not what I am interested in. I would not like to wake up every morning and be in a career I do not enjoy and am not happy to wake up for. Therefore I don’t think I would like to be one. Although this is a great job for anyone that is interested in medical careers.

Health Educator

Salary: Health educators earned a median annual wage of $47,490 in 2011, an increase of more than $1,500 over the previous year, the BLS reported.

Education: Most health educator jobs require a bachelor’s degree at minimum and some employers may prefer candidates who also are Certified Health Specialist, the BLS reports. Undergraduate fields of study include health promotion or health education, and often include an internship. In some cases, health educators may require a master’s degree, particularly for employment with state or federal public health agencies. In order to be effective, health educators must be able to evaluate information and data, build rapport with a diverse group of people and express themselves clearly, both verbally and in writing.

Reflection:

No I do not think I would like to be one, because I am not interested enough to work as being a health educator. Although I’d be fulfilling people with knowledge to maintain a healthy lifestyle and avoid all bad factors than can consist of diabetes and heart problems, I do not think id enjoy this career. This career gives a good salary, so anyone interested could really succeed in this career and help people out.

They create goals and the strategies for achieving them, and communicate this information to all employees. Because administrators tend to such business concerns as budgeting, scheduling, information management, marketing and internal communication, the medical staff can concentrate on health care. Administrators also ensure their facilities comply with all regulations and may represent their areas of responsibility at board meetings or public hearings.

Salary: For healthcare administrators overseeing general medical and surgical hospitals, the average was more than $102,000. The average annual wage was $93,770 for administrators at physicians' offices, while those overseeing home healthcare services earned an average of $85,860.

Education: Many higher-level health care administration executives have a master's degree in a field such as public health or business, hospital or nursing administration. A bachelor's degree is often sufficient for entry-level positions, or for employment with smaller facilities when coupled with relevant healthcare experience.

No I do not think I would like to be one. The reason why is because I am not so interested in medical careers. My aspects or likes are on different type of careers that don’t have to do with medical treatment. Although this is a great job where you coordinate the activities of medical organizations, and earn a good amount on salary, I do not see myself as a healthcare administrator.
